Continental Airlines - OnePass
Program Overview
Continental Airlines One Pass, established in 1987, defines the similar pass for two of the largest airlines which are the Continental and Eastern Airlines. Add to that it is in partnership with Star Alliance, Cape Air, Virgin Atlantic, Copa Airline, and Aero Republica. These airlines give out points for every flight so one can accumulate and exchange for a free flight.
Earn Opportunities
One can acquire miles by making purchases at Continental Airlines or airline partners such as mentioned above. One can also incur points by paying purchases with one's Credit cards such as Citibank, Master Card, and Chase. Checking in at hotel partners which include Sheraton, Westin, Microtel, Shangri-La, Intercontinental, and Hyatt; just to name a few. One can also earn by spending at car rental partners, cruise partners, grocery and shopping online partners; and financial and real estate partners.
Redeem Opportunities
One can use points earned to make their next trip free or cheaper by using their Travel rewards. Upgrades can also be free for a certain number of points. Non- travel rewards such as consumer items and magazine subscriptions can also be redeemed. One can also have their mile up for auction or simply just donate it to charity comprised of mostly health related charities such as Red Cross and Make a Wish Foundation.
Transfer Opportunities
Most of the hotels or credit cards will exactly credit your points to one's One Pass card. There are a handful which will have to undergo some online or written paper works. It is best to jus check the establishment to know which way to allocate one's points.
Conclusion
Flying Continental is already a treat in itself as consumers and Fortune Magazine names it the No. 1 Most Admired Global Airline from 2004 to present. Its partner hotels and car rentals are not well known, but they have a wider array of hotels that are fancy to reasonable. Some have complaints when they try to auction for their ticket but the convenience and the wide array of available means to earn and redeem points can allow for some minor inconvenience.
